New Age Travel is looking for writers who would like to establish their careers as travel journalists. We are not a paid market, but offer an opportunity to share experiences at the sacred sites of Mother Earth. Article length should be at least 800 words, plus a brief author’s biography, which may contain a link back to your blog or website.
Our favorite articles are about how people benefit from visiting sacred sites or places of power. The content should be about a specific location, such as a stone circle, holy well, shrine, sacred grove, pilgrimage or vision quest destination, or an area with several sites such as Sedona, AZ with its multiple vortexes.
A great article will enable the reader to see, hear, and feel an experience in the theater of their mind.
Along with your text we request at least one good-quality photograph or video. Up to four photos may be submitted. Non-original photos or videos are acceptable as long as you include the appropriate licensing details, such as a Creative Commons link. Writers should be prepared to provide a model release from any individuals who are recognizable in visual material, but please do not send release forms with your submission. Videos must already be on YouTube, so we can embed them. We may also share photos on our Facebook page.
Articles must not be already available on the Internet, unless the content has been very substantially re-written. You may also include “sidebar” type details, such as “If You Go” tips on transportation, accommodations, pricing, hours of operation, web addresses, or other useful information not contained within the body of the article.
We are very picky about the topics we publish as well as the quality of the writing, so you are strongly advised to send us a query first. We reserve the right to edit all content, including titles. British and Canadian spellings such as colour and flavour are fine, but we may edit kerb to curb.
Queries should be emailed to: editor “at” newagetravel “dot” com. Or use our Contact Form.
